  • Play therapy is a specialized technique often used with children to help them express their feelings, thoughts, and experiences through play. Children may find it challenging to verbalize their emotions directly, making play therapy an effective way to communicate and process their inner world. Through various play activities, toys, and games, therapists can gain insight into a child’s concerns, while also building a therapeutic rapport that encourages healing and growth.

Dr. Sun Woo Lee has extensive experience working with young children (2-6 years old). Please feel free to schedule 10 minute consultation to see if Dr. Lee would be a good fit for your child and family.

  • Psychological assessments are extensive and meant to rule out other possible diagnosis and provide clarity to current and past challenges. Face-to-face testing may require anywhere from 4-8 hours depending on findings and additional test. After testing is completed, a psychologist will synthesize all relevant information and test results to create a psychological assessment report, which will be provided to you during the feedback session.

Psychological assessments play a pivotal role in understanding and diagnosing conditions such as ADHD, Developmental Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These assessments involve a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a psychologist to provide accurate insights into an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

For ADHD, assessments often include structured interviews, behavioral observations, neuropsych assessments, cognitive testing and standardized rating scales. These tools help assess attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, aiding in a reliable diagnosis and treatment plan.

Developmental Disabilities assessments encompass a range of conditions, evaluating intellectual functioning and adaptive behaviors. Intelligence tests, behavioral assessments, and interviews with caregivers contribute to a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s strengths and challenges.

Diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder involves a multidimensional assessment, considering social communication skills, repetitive behaviors, and sensory sensitivities. The evaluation incorporates clinical interviews, direct observations, cognitive testing, and specialized assessments like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).

Fee: Psychological evaluations range between $2800-3300 depending on the complexity and face-to-face testing that is required.
